Putin Russia’s inflation should amount to around 5% in 2023

MOSCOW, Jun 13 (PRIME) – Russia’s inflation will amount to about 5% in 2023, President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday during a meeting with military correspondents.

“I think that it will be close to 5% this year just like the central bank forecasts, I think. This is a good thing, because a very low inflation is not great for us, but that amount will be normal,” he said.

Russia’s annual inflation slowed down to 2.3% in April. The central bank expects it to amount to 4.5–6.5% this year and to 4% in 2024.
